Shipped from India to your door in Canada.
Canada’s harmonium players are spread across a huge country. There are shabad kirtan groups in Brampton and Surrey, bhajan mandalis in Mississauga and Edmonton, yoga studios in Montréal and Vancouver, and individual learners in small towns hours from the nearest music shop. If there’s no Indian instrument store near you, RagaLoom ships handcrafted harmoniums from India straight to your address. Select CAD in the currency selector to see prices in Canadian dollars.

Each RagaLoom instrument is:
- Handcrafted in India
- Tuned to A=440 Hz as standard, so it matches keyboards, guitars, tabla apps and recordings

Winter care: the Canadian challenge
Canadian winters bring very dry indoor air from forced-air heating. Wood shrinks in low humidity, which can loosen joints or make keys stick. Keep the harmonium away from heating vents and baseboard heaters. If possible, use a room humidifier and keep indoor humidity steady. When a parcel arrives in freezing weather, let it sit unopened indoors for several hours so it warms gradually before you play it. More tips are in How to Care for Your Harmonium.
Building a kirtan kit
- A shruti box for practice drones (the 17-inch three-reed, 36-note model is popular with teachers)
- A dholak for rhythm
- Bronze manjira for aarti and kirtan
